Learn How To Be Positive

 “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.” – Proverbs 23:7
At this very moment, what are you thinking about? Did you know that no matter what you’re thinking, you have the power to change and determine your thoughts? 
In Proverbs 23:7, David tells us that we have the power to change our thoughts and ultimately our attitudes about ourselves, our lives, and our day.
By saying “as he thinks in his heart, so is he”, what he is revealing to us is that WE have the power to BE what we think! 
We don’t have to let our situations or circumstances determine how we think or feel..

Maybe you’ve had a bad day and now you’re agitated.
Maybe you’ve lost a friend and you’re angry
Maybe you’ve lost a parent and you’re depressed
Maybe you’ve failed a test and you’re frustrated
Maybe your relationship failed and you’re miserable
Maybe you were recently rejected and you’re feeling insecure
Maybe your significant other left you for another person and you’re jealous

No matter your situation, if you CHOOSE to believe in the truth of God’s Word about who you are in Christ and how God’s desire is to bless you and so everything will turn out alright and if you CHOOSE to remember how valuable you are to Him-you will experience joy in EVERY situation.

Paul knew how to do this, “for [he] learned in whatever state [he was] to be content” (Philippians 4:11). You can learn to be content in every situation but your first step is you must think positive thoughts. And we’re not just talking about thinking “happy” thoughts for the sake of “happy thoughts”, not like “think of ponies and roses…” 🙂

We’re talking about thinking about the TRUTH. And reminding yourself of it.

For example, when you’re feeling weak and helpless….remember that you can do EVERYTHING through Christ who will provide you the strength to do it! (Philippians 4:13)
Or when you’re thinking, I can’t control my feelings or my thoughts because they are so powerful…remember that Paul LEARNED to be content (Philippians 4:11), which means he worked at it constantly (and he probably failed sometimes but kept working at it) till he developed how not to let situations determine how he felt. 

You have the power to control your thoughts AND your feelings and we hope that today-you’ll CHOOSE to focus on the positive and seek hope so you can enjoy your day no matter how it turns out!
