Living in 2013 certainly has its perks. We live in the digital age where everyone is only one wireless hook up away from being in our reach. There doesn’t have to be the sad “goodbyes” or the “one day we’ll meet agains” because now we can just say, “see you on Skype!” or “Catch you on Facebook!” and it’s like our friends and family have never left our side!

If you’re feeling particularly homesick for your best friend or you miss talking to your dad-then take advantage of this wonderful thing called, “Virtual reality” and video chat it up online!

Facebook Video Chat – Tired of commenting and “liking” your friend’s status’? Get their attention and video call them so you can chat right through Facebook!

Facetime – Have an iPad, Mac, or iPhone? Then use the new facetime feature! Instead of just talking to your mom, be able to see her face when you tell her all about your life!

Google Chat – Want to have a girl’s night but all of your best girl friends are across the nation? Try Google Chat! Up to 10 friends can chat at a time which can make for a very chaotic and fun night! Rent a movie from YouTube and you can watch it all at the same time too through the free program!

Skype – Skype is great for those personal, one on one conversations that you just have to have. You can chat with one person at a time giving you the ultimate privacy (well as private as it can get on the internet! lol)

What’s your favorite way to connect with your friends and family online? Let me know in the comments!
